My Time Shifting SecretAug 21, 2022
For the last 10 years I've been nurturing a habit that has slowly, subtly, but profoundly changed my relationship with time.
It's a simple habit--but not necessarily easy! Mostly because it goes against the grain of dominant culture.
I want to share it with you because habits like these are easier with friends--within culture.
I mean culture in the layered sense: the microbial community that ferments and exchanges resources and changes the nature of an ecosystem (think yogurt and kimchee...)
And culture as in the larger scale community (though inclusive of all those microbes!) that ferments and exchanges resources and changes the nature of a human and more-than-human ecology.
When you put a vegetable in a culture in time it takes on the attributes of the culture.
When you put a human in a culture in time same thing happens.
So what kind of time-culture are you a part of? What kind of time-culture do you want to be a part of?
When we practice relating to time within a culture oriented towards greater balance and harmony, it's a kind of large scale digestion that changes the ecological landscape and ways of being in relationship with all the layers of that ecology: land, humans, plants, animals, spirits, ancestors, and each of us.
If you want to learn about this subtle-powerful time-shifting habit and practice growing a time-culture of well-being, harmony and balance, come watch the video below.
